چکیده

Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate tree size, production, and fruit quality ‘Valência’ sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) grafted on various trifoliate rootstocks, in order select genotypes with a high performance. Twenty rootstock were evaluated, including hybrids mandarin (citrandarins) grapefruit (citrumelos), as well ‘Rangpur’ lime. experiment implemented the northwestern region state Paraná, Brazil, 6.0×2.5 m spacing, sandy soil under subtropical rainfed conditions. statistical model used randomized complete block design four replicates trees per plot. Tree size yield analyzed during three consecutive harvest seasons. Data subjected analysis variance, means grouped by Scott-Knott test. Principal component agglomerative hierarchical clustering also carried out. F.80-18, F.80-5, F.80-3 citrumelos IPEACS-239 citrandarin are adequate options for orange, dwarf production efficiency. These except obtain oranges good industrial properties.

Bioactivity of Trifoliate Orange (Poncirus trifoliate) Seed Extracts

Trifoliate orange seed extracts (TSEs) were made using either distilled water (TW), ethanol (TE), or n-hexane (TH), to measure total polyphenol contents, DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities, and anti-complementary activity. The results showed that the total polyphenol content showed higher value at TE (235.24 μg/mL, p<0.05) than those of TW (132.65 μg/mL) and TH (165.44 μg/mL) at 10 mg/...

Comparison of Leaf Components of Sweet Orange and Sour Orange (Citrus Sp.)

Studies had shown that oxygenated compounds were important in food products. It seems that Citrus species had a profound influence on this factor. The goal of the present study was to investigate on flavor components of two Citrus species. In the early week of June 2012, about 500 g of leaves were collected from many parts of the same trees. Leaf components were extracted using water distillati...
